Introduction

I am a resident in West Linn, and have many years of Golf Course and Landscape management and construction experience. I have an excellent vision for landscape improvements and can help with design ideas. I have installed hundreds of miles of irrigation and drainage pipes, thousands of sprinklers and valves, and have performed most all tasks related to landscape improvements. I am very analytical and have the experience to solve unwanted landscape, as well as most property related problems. I am experienced with all equipment operation. I take pride in professionalism and attention to detail. I find it extremely satisfying making outdoor spaces at home more functional, visually appealing, and an added bonus of contributing to increased property values.

Q&A

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

unfold fold
My extensive experience with estimating projects, is primarily with large corporations. These companies have extensive overhead and labor costs. This knowledge is a major benefit to my clients, as my overhead is very low, while still having typically more experience than the employees at the large corporations. Therefore, cost savings get passed down to the client…and if requested, I will put together a comparison of my cost vs. corporate cost!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

unfold fold
Meet, listen, review, ask questions, listen, offer ideas, listen what client needs, follow through with providing plan/estimate to complete requests.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

unfold fold
Bachelor in Horticulture and Landscape Management

How did you get started doing this type of work?

unfold fold
Most of my career was as a Golf Course Superintendent. This provided the foundation for my extensive experience in landscape construction, management, and customer relations.

What types of customers have you worked with?

unfold fold
Literally, the complete gamut of types. Incl.: low budget vs. high budget, limited experience vs. designers, local vs. across the state.

Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?

unfold fold
I always love bringing “life” to a property! A project in Beaverton needed an entire brush clearing, and renovation including irrigation, patio, boulders, lighting, and water features. Client was thrilled with results which provided their property with functionality, curb appeal, and increased property value.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

unfold fold
Evaluate not only experience and previous project examples, but also response time, communication style, and the ability to listen to the client. It doesn’t matter how talented a team is, or how much experience they have, if they don’t take the time and commitment to listen and understand the client’s needs/requests.

What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

unfold fold
What is my goal…what am I wanting to accomplish? What problems are being solved with this project? When do I need this project completed…and how flexible is that schedule (given availability of professional). Lastly, what is my realistic budget for the project I am planning…and how flexible is that budget? (Given increasing material and labor costs in the current economy)
